If You’re Sick
Sickness is a part of life. If you get sick, you have one assignment: get better! Sleep, rest, eat and drink. We want you healthy so you can join us again! And don’t even think of coming to school sick. If you have a fever or you’re coughing or sneezing, keep your germs at home! We do not want them!

Other Absences
If you have travel plans or appointments that can not be accomplished outside of school hours, please let me know at least two days in advance. I can prepare some materials for you to take, so do not fall too far behind while you’re gone. Read the corresponding sections from the textbook, download the PowerPoint presentation files from the School Loop locker, and take Cornell notes from them. (Show them to me for full credit when you return.)

Time is so precious!
Whatever the reason for your absence, missing school is costly. We have so much that we do and learn every day! Also, we rely on what we learned yesterday to learn something new today! So, when you miss a day of school, it will require some work to catch up.

If there is work you did not get done, try to finish it within a couple of days and turn it in. If you’re not sure what to do or when to turn it in, just ask. Arrive a bit early, or stay a while after class to make sure you’re not interrupting instruction.
